Christmas Art
In September we applied our painting skills from Art to create our own Christmas card designs.
We used watercolours to create a background, collage to create trees and added some white paint for snowflakes in the sky.
We were very impressed with how effective they looked at the end and are looking forward to seeing what our artwork looks like on real Christmas cards!
Marwell Zoo Trip
On Monday 20th October Year 2 went on their school trip to Marwell Zoo.
Unfortunately it was an extremely rainy day, however, we still managed to see lots of animals! Our favourites were the tiger, who walked slowly past the fence right in front of us and the giraffes who were inside, munching on some leaves.
We talked about how the animals' bodies are adapted to suit their environment and were very excited to continue this learning when returning to school.
Harvest Festival
Year 2 were very excited to walk to St John's Church to celebrate our Harvest Festival.
We applied our knowledge of Special Food from RE when answering questions and our teachers were very impressed. Some of us developed our confidence by reading our prayers and poems aloud in the microphone on the stage.
The Book Trust – check them out! – lots of stories for you to read-along with, or just listen to, and games to play.
