Christmas Cards

Each year group have the chance to make a Christmas card.

In Year 1 we designed robins sitting on a branch in Winter. We needed to decide if we wanted two robins or one and what colour background we were going to paint.

We started by using water colours to paint our backgrounds, once this had dried we sponged white paint to look like snow. Finally we carefully painted our branches that our robins would sit on.

We really like how they turned out!

Dinosaur Museum : October 2025

We were really excited to invite our adults to our Dinosaur Museum where they were able to see some of the work we have created during this topic.

We performed our dinosaur dance and our Carnivore, Herbivore and Omnivore song to showcase some of the facts we have learnt.

Our adults then got the chance to look at our models we made in DT as well as our clay ammonites and our computer-generated dinosaurs.

Scooter Workshop

We were lucky enough to take part in a scootering workshop with Alex from Rubicon.

He talked to us about the importance of wearing protective equipment such as knee pads, elbow pads and helmets to protect ourselves.

We started by scooting on the Junior School lower playground and as we grew in confidence he bagan to teach us tricks we could try.

Victorian Day

We have been learning in our topic about toys from the past and present. To help us understand this, we stepped back in time between the years 1837 and 1901, to experience a day in a Victorian classroom.

On this day, we dressed up in Victorian clothing and had lessons similar to children of this time. We learned about the three R's; reading, writing and arithmetic. We solved addition and subtraction problems in Maths, performed traditional Victorian nursery rhymes in English and practised our capital and lower-case letters in handwriting. We had a great day and really enjoyed learning about how much schools have changed over time.
