Our School Day

Pease inform your child's school as early as possible when your child is absent – telephone your school office before 9.15 am and leave a message on the answer phone (Pre-School 01329 282073 ; Infant School 01329 280827 ; Junior School 01329 232571)

Please let us know in advance if you will be collecting your child during the day for an appointment, eg doctor, dentist, hospital etc. Come to the school office and staff will bring your child to you and sign them off the premises. We encourage medical appointments to be towards the end of the day please as this causes less disruption to your child’s learning.

Children in Year 5 and Year 6 (Junior Upper School) are permitted to walk home on their own.

All other children must be collected by an authorised adult (ie over 18 years old). If your child is to go home with an adult other than yourself (or their regular collector) please inform the school office.

If it is likely that you will be late collecting your child at the end of the afternoon, please telephone the school so that we can arrange supervision for your child until you arrive.

There can be a great deal of traffic congestion before and after school. Children are permitted to ride their bikes or scooters to school. These are stored in designated places. They must not be ridden on the school site.

Pre-School routine

When children attend at the start of the day they will come into their family time area and do a small activity with their keyworkers and children in their Family Groups. This can be a chance to talk about what the children have been doing at home, any special events that have happened or can be a fun and engaging turn taking activity.

Majority of the session is their ‘Busy Time’ which is where children can explore the indoor and outdoor environment independently, having access to all the high quality areas of the provision, which include, home corner, construction, small world area, dressing up and role play, loose parts, mark making area, book area etc. These areas are also accessible in the fully enclosed outside area where there is an additional climbing frame to access plus guttering, water play and sand area.

Within their week at Pre-School, we access the woodland area for wellie walks and do PE sessions in the hall or on the field. Wellie walks are a great opportunity to explore the school woodland area and access the mud kitchen, mark make in the mud and dirt and also have opportunities to plant seeds, flowers etc.

PE is very exciting with the children choosing which physical resources to access such as balancing beams, balls, hoops, cones, climbing equipment etc

Pre-School provide a snack mid-morning, which includes milk and fruit. At lunchtime, the children all eat together in the Pre-School room and can have a packed lunch brought in from home or a cooked lunch provided by the school caterers (small cost for this).

The children also access the sensory garden, ride bikes and scooters on the playground and play in the football court.

The sessions available for children are AM, PM or All Day, 5 days per week, term time only.

Please view the Sessions and Prices tab for more details.
