If your child was born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021, they will be eligible to start Year R in the school year beginning September 2025.

Wallisdean Infant School is a Hampshire County Council LA maintained school. We are a two form entry Infant school, catering for children between the ages of 4 – 7 years old.

Although not legally required to attend school until the term following their fifth birthday, most children join our Infant school from the September following their fourth birthday.

Entry to Year R is staggered over the first week of the Autumn Term, allowing your child to build their confidence in a new setting with new friends and teachers but without disrupting routines established through their previous attendance at pre-school. Most children attend full time within the first week.

In Reception Year (Yr R) we follow the national Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS) and in Year 1 (Yr 1) and Year 2 (Yr 2) pupils follow Key Stage 1 (KS1) of the National Curriculum.
