Joining our School

Starting School

Last year we were not able to hold our usual style of 'Open Day' for prospective new YrR families to visit our school, so our Staff, Governors and one of our Parents made videos for you to see and get a flavour of our school.  The videos are posted on our school's Home Page - please click here and have a look.    If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Please apply for a place at our school via the Hampshire Schools Admissions website:

Click the link above to find out how to apply for a place in our main round of new Reception Year (Year R) September admissions or to join our school in either Year R, Year 1 or Year 2 at any other time.

Wallisdean Infant School is a Hampshire County Council LA maintained school, catering for children between the ages of 4 – 7 years. Although not legally required to attend school until the term following their fifth birthday, most children join our school from the September following their fourth birthday. Entry to Year R is staggered at the beginning of the Autumn Term, allowing your child to build their confidence in a new setting with new friends and teachers but without disrupting routines established through their previous attendance at pre-school. Most children attend full time within the first week.

In Reception Year (YrR) we follow the national Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS) and in Year 1 (Yr1) and Year 2 (Yr2) pupils follow Key Stage 1 (KS1) of the National Curriculum.

We look forward to meeting you and to your child(ren) joining our school.

NB: Our Admissions Policy is available under 'Key Information / Policies and Documents'.
